Media Council examines compliance with human dignity standards
The Media Council of NMHH has initiated proceedings against a television media service provider over a suspected violation of human dignity. The NMHH also contacted the French media authority in connection with a suspected infringement.
The Media Council has announced the outcome of the tender procedure for the commercial use of the Szigetvár 103.1 MHz radio media service. The winner was “MAMBÓ RÁDIÓ” Kft., which had submitted the sole valid tender bid.
TV2 may have violated the statutory provision on the obligation to respect human dignity through their Napló broadcast at 6:47 p.m. on 13 July 2025, as well as its preview trailer, broadcast at 4:19 p.m. on 12 July 2025. In these, the media service provider published a prize draw linked to a vote in connection with a report on fatal bus accidents. The Media Council initiated proceedings against TV2 Zrt.
The programme “Vuelta Cycling Race” broadcast at 2:44 p.m. on 31 August 2025 on Eurosport 1, a permanent channel under French jurisdiction, did not comply with the statutory provisions on sponsorship under Hungarian law. The NMHH notified the French media authority of the suspected infringement, and requested it to take the necessary measures.
