The NMHH’s mission is to contribute to a sustainable digital future for the media, electronic communications and postal services markets, as well as for Hungarian citizens and businesses, by accurately performing its complex functions as defined by law, and in partnership with all stakeholders.

The NMHH’s aim is to:

  • support the safe integration of Hungarian society, economy and culture into the digital world, with particular regard to the protection of children online;
  • promote optimal market solutions, as a professional and cooperative authority;
  • ensure a predictable, supportive and sustainable regulatory environment in the areas under its supervision.

Our strategy

On 17 February 2023, the NMHH published its strategy for 2023–2026, with the following motto: „Freedom and security in an increasingly digital world”.

Reflecting the transformation of the supervised sectors and the Authority’s increased societal engagement, the strategy of the NMHH defines its strategic objectives for 2023–2026 along five closely interrelated strategic directions:

  • Media: a healthy and balanced media market
  • Infocommunications: modern infocommunications infrastructure and services
  • Platforms and new media: a safe and predictable online world and platforms
  • Partnership: active engagement and partnership with all stakeholders
  • Organisation: a modern, professional, well-known and recognised authority

The NMHH continuously monitors and evaluates its strategic objectives, and, where necessary, modifies them as part of its annual strategic review.
