hu

At its inaugural meeting on 15 December 2025, the MMIT – chaired by Government Commissioner László Palkovics – adopted a closing declaration with the unanimous support of its members. NMHH President András Koltay also attended the inaugural meeting.

The new body has a dual mandate: to support the implementation of the EU regulation in Hungary, and to help shape Hungary’s AI Strategy.

The work of the Council is of key importance in strengthening Hungary’s digital competitiveness, promoting innovative economic development, and creating a regulatory environment that meets the requirements of EU legal harmonisation. It functions as a professional consultation forum, providing guidance to support the uniform application of the law.

The body supports the government’s work, providing high-level technical expertise on the regulation and development of technology, while bringing together expertise from academia, science and industry. This is also reflected in its composition: representatives of the academic and business communities are present, as are the market supervisory authorities.
