The European Board of Media Services (EBMS) is made up of the audiovisual regulatory authorities of the EU Member States. The Board's goal is to promote the effective and consistent application of European Union media legislation, and its remit covers all media sectors, including audiovisual media, press, radio, vloggers, and online platforms. As the successor to the European Regulators Group for Audiovisual Media Services (ERGA), the EBMS

  • advises the European Commission on media-related issues,
  • promotes cooperation between national regulatory authorities,
  • ensures the consistent application of EU media rules,
  • promotes the development of a free, pluralistic and competitive media environment in Europe.

Like its predecessor, a significant part of the EBMS's activities are based on the work of working groups and expert groups. There are currently four working groups within the Board.
