International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
The International Civil Aviation Organization is the United Nations' global coordinating body for civil aviation.
It comprises the Assembly, the Council, the Air Navigation Commission, and other committees and regional units.
Its statutory purpose is to ensure the safe and orderly operation and development of international civil aviation throughout the world, as well as to organize and coordinate international cooperation in all matters related to civil aviation, including the provision of radio frequencies used by navigation and air traffic control equipment in national airspace.
The regulation of the allocation of frequencies necessary for the operation of air traffic navigation and communication equipment is carried out by the ICAO FMG Frequency Management Group, which includes frequency management experts from member states, including dedicated national frequency managers (NFMs).
At the request of the ministry, the Hungarian national frequency manager was appointed from among the experts of the NMHH, who, together with experts from HungaroControl and the aviation authority, represents our country in professional matters related to the use of frequencies for air traffic purposes.
