Communications Committee (COCOM)

COCOM is a committee established in 2002, consisting of representatives of EU Member States. Its main task is to give opinions on draft measures relating to telecommunications prepared by the Commission. Among other things, COCOM deals with current issues affecting the digital single market. Observers from candidate countries and EEA countries also participate in the meetings. In addition, experts from European telecommunications associations are invited to attend meetings on a case-by-case basis to discuss specific agenda items. NMHH staff participate in the work of COCOM as experts, assisting the representatives of the ministry responsible for electronic communications.
