European Defense Agency (EDA)

hu

The EDA was established as an agency for defense capability development, research, procurement, and military equipment to support the Council and Member States' efforts to develop the Union's defense capabilities in the field of crisis management and to maintain European security and defense policy.

The EDA operates under the supervision of the European Council within the single institutional framework of the Union. Its main task is to coordinate the development of key defense and crisis management capabilities among Member States, in line with the EU's global strategy, the common security and defense policy, and the common foreign and security policy.

The European Defense Agency's activities are based on three main tasks: supporting the development of defense capabilities and military cooperation among European Union member states, promoting defense research and technology (R&D), strengthening the European defense industry, and acting as a military liaison in EU policies. Professional military experts serving at the NMHH represent Hungary in the EDA Radio Spectrum Project Team (PT RS) in close cooperation with the relevant bodies of the Hungarian Armed Forces.
