European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP)
The ERGP is an advisory body to the European Commission, established in 2010. It promotes cooperation and consultation between national regulatory authorities (NRAs) and the Commission. In this way, it helps to consolidate the internal market for postal services and ensures the consistent application of regulations relating to postal items/parcels.
Its members include the regulatory authorities of the EU Member States, the European Commission, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Surveillance Authority, the regulatory authorities of the European Economic Area Member States (Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein), and EU candidate countries, which participate in meetings as observers. The European Commission performs the secretarial tasks.
The annual work plan is developed based on the current ERGP strategy. In its implementation, working groups dedicated to specific postal areas assist the ERGP in its work.
Since 2010, NMHH experts have been actively assisting in the achievement of the organization's objectives and are also actively involved in the work of all working groups. Working group meetings, contact network committee meeting, and a plenary meeting were also held in Budapest, organized by the NMHH.
