NMHH again supports Hungarian Film Week in 2018

Published: 12 December 2017

The Hungarian Film Academy will again host the Hungarian Film Week, as commissioned and supported by the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) and the Hungarian National Film Fund. Films can be submitted by artists by 14 January 2018 at the latest.

The Hungarian Film Academy will be hosting the Hungarian Film Week for the fourth time, starting from 8 February 2018. The series of events will be concluded by the festive Hungarian Film Awards ceremony on 11 February. The event is made possible through the support of the NMHH and the Hungarian National Film Fund. Works can be entered for the Hungarian Film Awards in five categories—feature film, short film, television film, animation film and documentary film—including even multiple films released in 2017. The films entered in the official selection will be announced by the Film Academy on 18 January 2018, including additional information on its website.

As customary since its establishment, the NMHH Media Council is again devoting particular attention to the support of the contemporary Hungarian motion picture culture. Since 2011, the council has supported a total of 1,058 Hungarian productions, films and radio dramas in 11 genre categories with over HUF 11 billion worth of funds in the framework of the Hungarian Media Patronage Program. At last year’s Film Awards, works and artists supported by the Patronage Program took home awards in six different categories.
