President of the Media Council Monika Karas signed the administrative contract on the use of the free Budapest 92.9 MHz frequency with András Arató, CEO of Klubrádió Zrt. on 13 February. Under the new contract, the radio has been granted a community media service licence and can continue broadcasting from tomorrow on the new frequency as a community media service provider.

On the same day, by mutual consent, the President of the Media Council and Klubrádió terminated the earlier contract concluded between them on the use of the Budapest 95.3 MHz frequency. The termination obligation is stipulated by law, which prohibits any media service provider from concurrently holding radio broadcasting licences for two different frequencies in the same municipality.

The NMHH will make sure the transition goes smoothly and Klubrádió will remain on the air uninterruptedly throughout the process. Audiences will not face any interruption in broadcasting; they will merely have to reset their radios from the Budapest 95.3 MHz frequency to the Budapest 92.9 MHz frequency at midnight on 14 February 2014.
