The Media Council of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) may launch tendering procedures for radio media service facilities in Debrecen, Fehérgyarmat, Karcag, Győr and Miskolc.

The Council carried out a formal examination of the tender submitted for the use in principle of a small community radio media service facility in Szombathely, and called on the Evangelical Parish of Szombathely to remedy deficiencies. Following a formal examination of the tender for the use of the Ajka 93.2 MHz local coverage media service facility for community purposes, the Authority registered Mária Rádió Frekvencia Kft. Each of the two bidders was the only one to submit a bid in the relevant tender procedure.

The Council approved the draft call for tenders for the community use of the Várpalota 90.0 MHz local coverage frequency and requested the Authority to develop frequency plans for the Debrecen 94.4 MHz, Fehérgyarmat 99.5 MHz, Karcag 93.8 MHz, Győr 100.1 MHz and Miskolc 101.6 MHz media service facilities.

The Media Council will not renew the licence of the service provider of Dráva Hullám 102.7, the commercial service with a local reception area operating on Barcs 102.7 MHz, due to statutory grounds for exclusion.

The Council imposed a fine on the service provider of Trio Radio for publishing fewer texts, public service programmes and programmes on local public life and providing help in everyday life in the area than it had contractually agreed to.

The full agenda of the weekly meetings of the Media Council is available on the Council’s website, together with the minutes of the sessions and all resolutions – the latest documents are published after the necessary certification and administration processes.
