For this year’s European Day, we would like to bring a new publication by INHOPE – the International Association of Internet Hotlines – to everyone’s attention, as a new resource in combating the online sexual exploitation of children.
Sharing of knowledge and practices: visit of Moldovan and Serbian colleagues at Internet Hotline
Between the 2nd and 4th of October, Internet Hotline hosted the colleagues of the Moldovan and Serbian hotlines. The Moldovan colleague’s participation was funded by INHOPE under the Peer-to-Peer exchange programme. The analyst of the Serbian hotline joined the study trip through self-funding. The primary aim of the programme was to give colleagues an insight into the operation and analytical practice of the NMHH’s Internet Hotline, but the meeting also meant a common reflection, sharing of knowledge and practices for all participants.

Last year, nearly half a million instances of paedophile content were examined by hotlines worldwide
INHOPE, the international organisation combating child sexual exploitation, published its 2019 Annual Report. Last year, nearly 184,000 reports were entered into INHOPE’s database, which resulted in the examination of over 456,000 paedophile recordings. In Europe, most paedophile content was stored on Dutch, French and Slovakian servers.

INHOPE, the international organization combating child sexual exploitation, published its Annual Report on 2018. Its associated hotlines – including the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) Internet Hotline’s legal advisory service – transmitted more than 155 thousand reports from all over the world last year to the central database.
