The Media Council fined for improper publication of virtual advertisements and failure to comply with commitments
TV2's programme entitled ‘Pénzt vagy éveket’ (Money or Years), broadcast on 2 August, has been inspected by the Media Council. The investigation found that the media service provider, by broadcasting the content within the programme, had violated the legal provision on the publication of virtual advertisements. The Media Council has imposed a fine on the service provider of the television channel.
Two complaints from citizens were submitted to the Authority regarding the TV2 programme entitled ‘Sztárban sztár leszek!’ (I'm going to be a star).
The programme was broadcast by the media service provider on 25 September with the age rating “not recommended for audiences under the age of 12”. Based on the complaints, the programme contained sexually explicit language and scenes.
The regulatory inspection found that the programme, although it may have offended individual sensibilities, did not depict sexuality in a direct manner, thus it did not violate the requirements set for the age category displayed by the media service provider, and the time of broadcasting was also appropriate.
Media Council fines for non-compliance with commitments
The Council examined the programme-flow of the 105.1 MHz Rádió Antritt, Szekszárd having a local reception area.
The Council found that the media service provider had failed to meet its commitments regarding the daily proportion of programmes dealing with local public affairs and serving public service objectives, and therefore the Council imposed a fine on the radio operator.
