The Media Council of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (the Media Authority) has approved the draft call for tenders for the Budapest 90.3 MHz media service facility and will soon launch the tender for the frequency. At its last meeting, the panel also announced the winner of a tender procedure held in Ajka.

The Council approved the draft call for tenders for the community use of the Budapest 90.3 MHz media service facility. The preparation of the tender procedure was started because the Media Council could not renew the media service licence of the Tilos Cultural Foundation, which currently uses the media service facility, on grounds for exclusion stipulated by law, and therefore such licence will expire on 3 September 2022. The operator of the radio did not exercise its right of appeal guaranteed under law against the decision made in terms of the renewal. At the same time, the new draft call for tenders allows the Tilos Cultural Foundation to bid for the frequency as well.

The Council concluded that the winner of the tender procedure for the community use of the Ajka 93.2 MHz local media service facility was the sole bidder, Mária Rádió Frekvencia Kft. The Council completed the formal examination of the single bid submitted for the use (in principle) of the small community radio media service facility in Mezőtúr and registered the bidder Actor Media Kft. in the tender register.

The full agenda of the weekly meetings of the Media Council is available on the Council’s website, together with the minutes of the sessions and all resolutions – the latest documents are published after the necessary certification and administration processes.
