Grants of more than HUF 120 million for the operation of community radio and television stations
In the second round of the tender for community media service providers, the Media Council has decided to provide grants of around HUF 122.6 million to twenty-one applicants to support their running and operational costs. The television stations receiving grants include Somogy TV, Karcag Televízió, TV Budakalász, Füred Televízió, Régió Plusz Televízió of Gödöllő, MagTV of Újhartyán, VÁROSI TV MOHÁCS, Soltvadkerti TV, and Szentgál TV. The successful applicants of the radio stations include Első Pesti Egyetemi Rádió, Alpha Rádió of Székesfehérvár, Rádió Törökszentmiklós, Rádió Szentendre, Rádió Smile of Kiskunfélegyháza, Balaton Rádió of Siófok, Rádió Szarvas, Credo Rádió of Szombathely, and Európa Rádió of Sátoraljaújhely, Miskolc, Debrecen and Nyíregyháza.
The Media Council finalised the invitations to tender for the community use of the Szentes 104.3 MHz and Keszthely 92.2 MHz local frequencies, as well as for the small-community radio media service opportunity of the Berettyóújfalu site. The tenders for the Szentes and Keszthely frequencies can be submitted on 10 and 12 May, and for the Berettyóújfalu frequency on 7 June.
The Media Council approved the request of the operators to connect Karc FM Média Kft.’s frequency rights for Miskolc 103.8 MHz and Gyöngyös 88.9 MHz with its frequency right for Nyíregyháza 102.6 MHz from 12 April. The Media Council also consented to Karc FM Média Kft. not connecting its frequency rights for Budapest, Székesfehérvár, Tatabánya, Dunaújváros, Balatonfüred, Győr, Kaposvár with the mentioned frequency right for Nyíregyháza from that date.
