Media Council grants HUF 60.8 million for the maintenance of community radio and television stations

A Nemzeti Média- és Hírközlési Hatóság Médiatanácsa ma hirdette ki honlapján a közösségi médiaszolgáltatóknak szóló 2014-es rezsipályázat negyedik fordulójának nyerteseit. A Magyar Média Mecenatúra programon belül a testület 13 közösségi médiaszolgáltató fenntartási és üzemeltetési költségeit támogatta 60,8 millió forinttal. A pályázat korábbi fordulóival együtt így már 84 rádió és tévécsatorna részesült összesen 480 millió forint juttatásban.

The list of winners of the fourth round of the 2014 overhead costs tender for community service providers was published today on the website of the Media Council of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority. The Media Council handed out HUF 60.8 million in the context of its Hungarian Media Patronage programme to assist with the funding of maintenance and operating costs of 13 community media service providers. Along with earlier rounds of the tender, a total of HUF 480 million has been doled out among 84 radio and television stations.

The Media Council assessed the last round of the tender announced for community television and radio stations for 2014 at its Tuesday meeting, with the professional panel publishing the results today on its website. The current round has granted total funding of HUF 60.8 million to two community radio and 11 community television stations. The winning radios are Első Pesti Egyetemi Rádió in Budapest and Alfa Rádió in Balkány, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. Of all candidate television stations, funding was awarded to Tótvázsony TV, Pomáz Televízió, Soltvadkerti TV, Ladány Televízió (Püspökladány) and SárrétTV – Földes, KÉK-KÁLLÓ TV Derecske, Csurgói Városi Televízió, Újpesti Közösségi Televízió, Mezőtúri Városi Televízió, Rábaközi Televízió and Dunaújváros Televízió.

According to the tender notice, television broadcasters could apply for up to HUF 600,000, community radios for HUF 500,000 and small community radios for HUF 400,000 per month. The subsidy period ends on 31 December 2014 at the latest.
