What can be reported?

In the Content inciting or promoting illegal acts of violence category, we accept reports of websites, emails and messages that are alleged to incite, promote or facilitate terrorism.

Examples

  • A social media post or blog entry that threatens with violence
  • A website set up for sharing war-related content
  • A blog about a radical, violent movement and its promotion
  • Content promoting inhuman treatment

What happens to the report?

  1. Examining the reported content: We will investigate the content at the URL or link indicated in the report, if it is still available.
  2. Professional consultation with the Department of Electronic Communications Security of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority: if our analysts consider it necessary in the course of the examination of the content, they will initiate a professional consultation with the Department.
  3. Contacting the service provider, the social media platform: Depending on the outcome of the professional consultation, if possible, we will contact the content and/or hosting service provider and the social media platform concerned, and ask for the content in question to be investigated and, if necessary, removed.
  4. Contacting the reporting person: In all cases where the report is not anonymous, i.e. the reporting person has provided their email contact details, we will inform the reporting person of the action taken. If necessary, we will ask for further information or clarification.

  • Do you have a specific link (URL) to the offending content that would allow the Internet Hotline to investigate your report?
  • Do you have any other evidence, such as a screenshot?
