New regional commercial radio station to launch in Pécs
A new regional commercial station shall broadcast under the name 101.7 Gold Rádió on a frequency in Pécs currently not in use – as the Media Council of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) has decided.

The Media Council of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) announced the winners of the tenders for radio frequencies Velence Meleg-hegy 90.4 MHz and Veszprém 90.6 MHz, called on bidders to remedy deficiencies as part of the formal examination of the bids submitted for the Sopron 94.1 MHz frequency and finalised the call to tender for the Kecel 99.6 MHz radio frequency. In addition, the Council imposed a fine due to deviations in the radio programming schedule.
Media Council supports Hungarian Special Independent Film Festival again this year
At this week’s meeting, the Media Council of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) decided to provide another grant for ad-hoc filming under Escher Károly Tender; this time, scenes will be shot for a documentary on forced displacement. NMHH Media Council: HUF 110 million for technical improvement of community TVs and radios
The Council decided to award grants totalling HUF 60.6 million for the production of nine new contemporary Hungarian animation films and series episodes and it will also cover the shooting costs of a production about Indonesian animal traffickers.
New national commercial station called “Retro Rádió” to launch
The Media Council of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) approved the request of the media service provider that won the tender for a new national commercial radio station to start broadcasting as “Retro Rádió” instead of the initially proposed name of “POP FM”.
