Revenues of postal operators by region, 2010-2014

The postal sector is evolving globally and its performance and indicators vary by region. The average growth of regional postal markets between 2012-2014 ranges from 1% growth to 10% decline, except for the Asia-Pacific region.

The 2010-2014 period offers a more detailed look at the development of revenues in countries with different levels of development. Global postal market revenues showed continuous increase during the period concerned, with an average growth of 3%. However, it is interesting to note that after a linear increase of around -1% to 2.4% in the period between 2010-2013, the global postal market grew by 8.92% from 2013 to 2014. This is explained by the EUR 11 million growth in both developed countries and Asia-Pacific. Developed countries, however, remain stagnant over a longer period of 4 years with a 1.41% growth in four years. In contrast, the second largest region, Asia-Pacific saw a revenue increase of 99.32% during the same period. In relative terms, other areas did not have any considerable impact on global trends.
