NET-COACH Association held its opening conference titled “Safety in the Digital World”
Practical recommendations on the development of digital media literacy were also made at the opening conference of the NET-COACH Association on 28 February, held in cooperation with the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH). At the professional event, the speakers demonstrated how collaboration helps children, their parents, and educators develop digital media literacy.

Katalin Nagy-Marosváry, President of the Net-Coach Association, emphasised in her welcome speech that the online space is not only an addition but an integral part of our lives, and therefore it also poses daily challenges. According to the expert, everyone has a role to play in making the online space safer, and raising children's awareness of smart device use is the responsibility of educators as well as parents. She added that the conference will explore ways to boost digital literacy, offering practical tips to parents and educators on how to promote responsible use of new media.
The NMHH is supporting more and more initiatives like the NET-COACH Association in the field of public education, said Dr. Norbert Kis, Presidential Advisor to the NMHH and Head of the NMHH Net-Coach programme. The expert highlighted the personal dedication of the association’s founders, which has characterised the adult education program in new media pedagogy—jointly organised by the NMHH and the Apor Vilmos Catholic College—from the very beginning. He praised the shared commitment of the colleagues who completed the programme, which has taken shape in the NET-COACH Association. It is important for the NMHH to have as many presentations and discussions on the topic as possible, both in schools and civil communities, added Norbert Kis.
Dr. Zoltán Gloviczky, rector of the Vilmos Apor Catholic College, recalled the beginnings of the joint adult education program on new media pedagogy between the NMHH and the Apor Vilmos Catholic College, and then emphasised that the term “net-coach” perfectly captures one of the most important aspects: namely personalised assistance, which must be provided through a network.
The conference featured professional presentations on the mission of the association, the activities of its working groups, and workshops with a practical approach to the online world, media literacy and digital tool use.
