Not an administrative procedure, but still effective
Lacking statutory authorisation, we may not require any service provider to delete illegal content or display warnings for content harmful to minors. Fortunately, the requirements laid down by law are sufficient: if a service provider ignores our warning, it will become liable for the illegal content.
It is important to note that Hungarian citizens may take action against illegal and harmful content, contacting the service provider directly as we do, if they feel responsibility to do so and have the relevant technical skills and legal knowledge.
Although we do not act as an authority, we consider that knowledge of our administrative role, the precise references to legislation we send to service providers and the experience gained by resolving thousands of cases all matter when handling cases.
