The Authority prepared a new publication for consumers of digital content, available online as well, which lists the cases in which one can contact the NMHH.
Plenary Meeting of European Postal Supervisory Authorities hosted by the NMHH for the first time
Bringing together postal regulatory authorities, ERGP held its first bi-annual meeting organised by the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) on 22-23 June in Hungary. The international trade association elected its chair for the next year from Belgium.
Postal Surveillance – Hungary as a Founding Member
Hungary is among the founding members of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which, since 1874, unites the world’s postal service providers and their regulatory authorities. In the Union’s international endeavours, Hungary is represented, in addition to the NMH, by the State Secretary for National Financial Services and Postal Affairs, and Magyar Posta Zrt.
Postal Providers and Their Services
The NMHH maintains a public register on postal service providers and their services. At present, 176 postal service providers are listed in these public records, of which one – Magyar Posta Zrt. – is engaged in the provision of so-called universal postal services. The role of the Authority was expanded significantly in the wake of the postal market liberalisation in 2013: changes in legislation paved the way for new postal market participants, and their licensing was also changed.
