Registration of print and online media products

In its procedures related to the registration of print media, the Authority primarily on customer request. Based on the content of requests, the Authority registers new print media products, modifies details already kept on record or removes print media products from its register. In addition, the Authority’s processes typically cover the conduct of supervisory procedures, customer information concerning print media and publications and responding to request for assistance within Hungary.

In 2015, the Authority considered cases related to 1,318 print media products, in addition to supervisory activities set out in detail in Section VII.4.2. of the report. The Authority registered 416 print media products based on new print media product declarations. At the end of the year, the register contained the details of 4,532 print and 3,117 online media products. Although the number of registered media products show a continuous growth over the last three years, the significant 2015 increase in the number of print media products on record resulted from supplementary data reporting during the review of periodicals.

 All decisions adopted by the Authority concerning the media register took effect at first instance, there were no appeal proceedings. In ex officio general supervisory procedures, customers were cooperative with the Authority, fulfilling their declaration obligation they failed to discharge or correcting imprints to comply with legal requirements. The Authority never had to impose a fine.
